Brent Lockie

Brent obtained his Law Degree from Edinburgh University, graduating in 1987, where alongside his studies he was a keen sportsman, playing football and cricket for the University.  He called as a Solicitor in 1991, an Advocate at the Scottish Bar in 2002, and as a Solicitor Advocate in 2009.

Brent is also our in-house Solicitor Advocate, and has over 30 years of experience throughout Scotland in the Justice of the Peace and Sheriff Courts as a Defence Solicitor and as a Procurator Fiscal Depute, and as an Advocate, Advocate Depute and Solicitor Advocate in the High Court. 

Brent regularly works as Counsel in both appeal work and trial work.  He has considerable experience in dealing with the most serious type of cases in the High Court and Sheriff and Jury Courts.  Brent has a particular interest in complex drugs cases and road traffic law.

Stephen Carty

Mr Carty has been in practice as a Criminal Defence Solicitor since 1997 and has practiced throughout Scotland before settling in Moray where he has been in practice for over 20 years.

He has a wealth of experience at all levels of Criminal Court including Sheriff and Jury cases, Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court and is the firm’s Team Leader organising, managing and appearing in our busiest Courts.

Grant Daglish

Grant graduated from Glasgow University in 2015, gaining his LLB qualification. He thereafter completed his Diploma in Legal Practice.  Grant completed his traineeship with the firm and has been defending our clients ever since.

Grant appears in the Sheriff Court, in both Summary and Solemn proceedings, and the Justice of the Peace Courts, as well as assisting Counsel in preparation of cases at the High Court and Appeal Courts.

Finn Curran

Finn obtained his LLB in 2019 and Diploma in 2021, both from the University of Dundee.   He thereafter joined the firm as a trainee solicitor, providing assistance in all aspects of Court work and Court preparation.

SUPPORT STAFF

Kathryn Watt is our office manager and qualified paralegal and can assist clients at Court under the supervision of legal staff.   Kathryn has been with the firm since 2002.

Ashley Gilmour is an experienced secretary for Mr Carty who has been with the firm for almost 20 years and qualified as a paralegal in 2008.

Lesley MacLeod joined the firm in 2018 as an experienced secretary and deals with a majority of the Sheriff and Jury and High Court work along with Mr Lockie. 

Kayla Sinclair joined us in 2019 and is secretary/admin assistant, she is also undertaking a law degree alongside working in the office.    Kayla can assist clients at Court under the supervision of legal staff.
